But even with so many people in the library, the entire building was quiet. ![]() Almost 100 student employees worked there in 1986. The large space with an ever-increasing book collection demanded a large staff. In 1965, the library acquired its 100,000th volume and by 1979 had over 155,000 volumes. Mack Library was one of the original buildings that greeted students that fall.
